I work with people, materials, and places marked by rupture—creating films, performances, installations, and collective processes that make room for memory, relation, and repair. Art can transform how we relate—to matter, to land, to one another, and to what we have inherited. My practice creates spaces for collective inquiry, where material transformation and storytelling help us witness change and imagine otherwise.

Dima Mabsout is a Lebanese multidisciplinary artist, educator, and social practitioner based in Santa Cruz, California.Her work centers land, extraction, memory, and landscape as living archives. Through film, performance, installation, material processes, and collaborative research, she brings ancient narratives into conversation with present ecological and political realities.
Dima holds an MFA in Environmental Art & Social Practice from UC Santa Cruz, an M.Ed. in Arts in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a BA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins. For more than a decade, she has developed arts and learning programs across grassroots collectives, nonprofits, schools, and universities.
