LIMBS

by  Unidentified Body Parts Collective

In honor of the countless bodies we have witnessed in pieces in the last years, LIMBS are cyclical community art making events and gatherings,  travelling to different sites and communities to bridge experiences of grief, joy and collective power.
By making clay limbs together and firing them in the earth in Ceremony  we co-create our rituals of regeneration.

The limbs are then exhibited and sold to raise funds towards Ghassan Abu Sitta Foundation for children’s reconstructive limb.

LIMBS underwent two cycles around different locations in Santa Cruz and  Vermont.
* The collective was created by Rami Chahine Dima Mabsout. The creation of the work was deeply collaborative and made through the participation of many people.

*Rami led Creative direction, community , facilitation, and sculptor. Dima led Artistic direction, filmmaking,  and production.
